Expert Infant Feeding Support from an IBCLC in London

Whether breastfeeding, bottle feeding or a mix, feeding is a learned skill for both parents and babies. While it can be a wonderful experience, it’s also common to encounter challenges in the early days and weeks. Whether you’re experiencing pain during feeds, concern about weight gain, milk supply or simply looking for reassurance that feeding is going well, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) can provide expert, evidence-based support.

As an IBCLC, I offer personalised support for families across London and the UK, helping you to meet your feeding goals with compassionate, practical advice tailored to your individual circumstances.

Why an IBCLC?

An IBCLC is the highest internationally recognised qualification in lactation and breastfeeding care. Choosing to work with an IBCLC means you’ll receive expert assessment and support based on the latest evidence. Becoming an IBCLC requires extensive training, education and supervised clinical experience before passing an internationally-set, comprehensive examination. IBCLCs must re-certify every five years meaning any IBCLC stays current with evolving evidence and clinical practice.

What happens during a consultation?

Every consultation is tailored to your family and your baby’s individual needs. During a consultation we’ll discuss:

  • Pregnancy, birth and feeding history

  • Any relevant medical information

  • Your baby’s health, growth and feeding patterns

  • Your feeding goals

  • Any concerns or challenges you’re experiencing

Where possible, I’ll observe a full feed and complete an assessment based on this, looking at aspects such as positioning and attachment, milk transfer and feeding behaviour. Rather than offering generic advice, I explain what’s happening, why it might be happening and options available so you can make decisions that feel right for your family. At the end of a consultation, I’ll give clear, practical recommendations tailored to your situation.

My aim is to help feeding become more comfortable, effective and enjoyable while supporting any family’s individual goals.

Where do you work?

I’m based in Hammersmith & Fulham and routinely support families across West, South West and Central London. I am happy to travel across London, though this may incur an additional fee.

I also offer video consultations, which can be invaluable for families nationally (and indeed internationally) who may be located in an area where it is not possible to access timely and expert feeding support.
